The Code for Sustainable Homes is an Assessment method developed by the BRE that rates the environmental qualities of new homes within England. It assesses key elements in achieving sustainable credentials though encouraging good design and construction. Individual dwelling types in a development are assessed and rated from 1* to 6*, to ultimately help tackle climate change, resource use and impact on the environment, whilst providing safe, healthy homes.
