Supply Chain Foot Printing
Did you know the majority of your environmental impacts result from the goods and services you buy? These are often four or more times the size of your own footprint – and can be up to 40 times the size, depending on the nature of your operations.
Our approach
Redhills provide a unique, cost effective and systematic approach to supply chain environmental impact measurement and reduction.
Our unique approach of using business and expenditure information that you already routinely maintain, means you can measure your supply chains environmental impacts in weeks rather than a lengthy review process being undertaken.
In partnership with the world’s largest and most comprehensive database of corporate environmental impacts, supported by our patented data modelling techniques, we can calculate vital priority areas for your supply chain footprint – saving time and ensuring minimum disruption to your operations.
Prioritising your impacts
Our database enables us to quickly rank your suppliers according to their contribution to your supply chain footprint: experience tells us that around 10% of your suppliers will be responsible for around 90% of your supply chain impacts.
We will also identify which environmental impacts are most material to your supply chain. From carbon and other greenhouse gases, to water, waste, metals and chemicals.
Engaging & supporting your suppliers
To facilitate efficient data validation across multiple suppliers, we’ll manage the process and provide a pre-populated, secure, online portal so your suppliers need only enter the best data they have available.
The data collection portal provides an ongoing management framework for you and your suppliers to monitor progress in reducing your environmental impacts by enabling your suppliers to update their information at any time.
We’ll provide each of your suppliers with a report summarising their environmental footprint and identifying the most efficient opportunities for them to reduce their impacts. We’ll also enable your suppliers to securely share their environmental data with other customers through our online portal, minimising environmental ‘questionnaire fatigue’.
Why measure?
Measuring your supply chain impacts identifies important opportunities to optimise your operations – in terms of both cost and efficiency and demonstrate solid environmental credentials to your customers, staff, investors and other stakeholders.
By identifying the priority areas, Redhills enables you to work closely with the suppliers that contribute the most to your overall footprint, helping them efficiently measure and reduce their most material environmental impacts.
And with climate change regulations being introduced to reduce environmental impacts across the world’s major economies, now is the time to protect your organisation from the financial risk of suppliers passing on costs from ‘polluter pays’ initiatives.
